Olife and the therapeutic virtues of olive leaves
In a thesis for the state diploma of doctor of pharmacy of 2008, from the UNIVERSITY OF NANTES, FACULTY OF PHARMACY,
"The olive tree and the therapeutic virtues of its leaves
are developed the therapeutic virtues and the chemical composition of the olive leaf"
Chemical composition of the olive leaf
The main known constituents of the olive leaf
- numerous minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, silica, potassium, etc
- tannins
- fatty acids: palmitic acid, linolenic acid
- triterpenes: oleanolic acid, (polyphenol) 60 to 90 mg per g of dry weight, ursolic acid, uvaol
- secoiridoids: oleuropein, (elenolic acid and hydroxytyrosol) oleoside, ligustroside, oleoside, oleacein aldehydes,
- flavonic pigments: flavones (luteolin), chalcone (olivine), choline. And others
Therapeutic virtues of the olive leaf
- Diabetes, which is a permanent excess of sugar in the blood. In constant increase in the world.
Olive leaves Olea europaea L. (and therefore OLIFE) improve metabolic disorders and have anti-diabetic properties due to the action of oleuropein and oleanolic acid
- Atherosclerosis, one of the first causes of mortality worldwide at the origin of most cardiovascular diseases
Oleuropein (polyphenol), with a strong antioxidant power, will fight against the excess of LDL-cholesterol which is a major trigger of artherosclerosis.
- Hypotensive properties (high blood pressure, too high blood pressure in the arteries)
- Contributes to a normal blood circulation
- Anti-inflammatory activity (inflammation is a response to an aggression) and the olive leaves of Olife Olivum have a wide potential of anti-inflammatory properties.
- Osteoporosis (brittle bones) common in women over 50 and men over 75.
- Antibacterial and antiviral activity: Oleuropein and Hydroxytyrosol stimulate the immune system. (destruction of microbes and harmful cells)
Psoriasis and skin problems
- Psoriasis, Acne, by its action on the bacteria
- Activities on the thyroid (studies to be confirmed)
No known counter indications to date of Olife, infusion of olive leaves.
